Project Description

Rosati’s Sport’s Pub of Wake Forest Strategy Development

Douglas J. Smith, Owner of Rosati's of Wake Forest, NC

Mr. Douglas J. Smith became the owner of Rosati’s Sports Pub in September of 2016.  As he began to perform the day to day operations of the business, he noticed that certain key strategies, marketing and branding aspects were not up to par to his standard.

Mr. Smith reached out to Joseph Solomon for assistance in developing a strategy dashboard to align his business components.
Joseph Solomon began this engagement by thoroughly understanding the client’s pain points in terms of dire needs.  Within the conversations, it was observed that a business model recreation was needed to develop new ideas in understanding the customers and build alignment within all internal and external components of Rosati’s operations.

  •  RESEARCH
    • In-depth discussions with the client on each component of the business in terms of operations, branding, marketing, pricing etc.
    • Investigation and Canvas development uncovered a need to:
      • Develop a Financial Understanding Plan
        • Charts and Graphs of Income, Expenses
        • Understand Trends and Prepare for Seasons
        • Understand Cost Drivers and Minimize Costs
    • Development of innovative ways to reach customers
    • Online research on customers’ and competitors’ trends
    • Online Review and in-house research of Customer Service and Food Tastes
  • TEACHING
    • JSMC relayed all information uncovered along with recommendations on how to minimize risks, reduce costs and increase revenue
    • Each component of the model was explained, questions asked and answered to the client’s satisfaction before moving forward with other components
  • DOCUMENTATION
    • Business Model Canvas: developed with information about each component. A narrative of the business displayed on a single sheet of paper with interconnected components.
    • Action Matrix Plan: every action associated with each component of the Business Model was developed within a document that can be used for project management
    • Monthly Trend Data: package of monthly income and expense along with other indicators developed to ensure the business is trending toward profit
  • COMMUNICATION
    • JSMC communicated with the client via phone, text, emails and scheduled meetings. At all times, the client understood the roadmap, the current plan and next steps.
The project was scheduled for 3 months with all documentations delivered. As more opportunities were uncovered, the client retained Joseph Solomon to:

  • Develop monthly trend data
  • Develop a digital platform strategy and implementation
    • Create Social Media campaign for clients’ consumption
  • Research innovative thoughts and ideas for inclusion into the business operations

Mr. Smith comments: “Trust me, if I didn’t need you, I wouldn’t retain you. You are a great asset to my business.”
